Serban, operating under Açık Holding, has been building qualified and strategic industrial buildings since its establishment in 2014, providing turnkey services for the data center projects of Türkiye's crucial institutions and organizations. Serban provides services in many areas that add value to the construction sector, from data center projects to infrastructure works, from cyber technology and security buildings to critical facilities. Mehmet İlker Akdeniz, General Manager of Serban, stated that together with the group companies, they developed projects on data centers for smart cities and digital Türkiye. He said that in addition to the architectural structure of the cities, they should be shaped with a serious IT architecture and equipped with appropriate resources. Stating that IT architecture can be exemplified in the simplest sense as the notification of empty parking spaces to those in need, Akdeniz said: “Such smart applications will enable the use of parking spaces in the city much more effectively as well as reducing energy consumption. In this direction, our company closely follows the developments in the world and continues to develop data center projects for smart cities.”

Great Projects Are on the Way
Stating that they are working on products that will make an impact in global markets with our newly joined technology companies at Açık Holding, Akdeniz said, “We are working hard to complete the Çanakkale Hilton Hotel, which belongs to our company, in the first months of next year. We will complete our Turkcell GEM4 project at the end of October. In addition, we have started a new project for Roketsan in Ankara. We have also undertaken the construction of administrative buildings at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.”
We Grew 87% in 2020
Stating that they achieved their sustainable growth targets despite all the negativities and grew by 87% in 2020, Akdeniz said, “In 2020, when market interest rates in Turkey tended to increase, the exchange rate, which followed a fluctuating course in parallel with the developments in domestic and foreign markets, increased funding costs in our sector, the large price increase in construction materials for the last two years and despite the known negativities specific to 2020, we completed Turkcell Europe Data Center, the most important and most technological data center in Turkey.
