SERBAN to Build Vodafone and Damac Digital’s İzmir Data Center
DHA / June 2025
İzmir, Türkiye — As digitalization accelerates across every sector, data centers that ensure a secure and uninterrupted flow of information are emerging as the backbone of the modern economy. Classified as critical infrastructure because of their strategic function, data centers play a vital role in the advancement and sustainability of technology.
As demand for data grows exponentially worldwide, Türkiye, a strategic bridge between Asia and Europe, is attracting a growing volume of data center investment. One of the most recent and significant developments is a new data center launched by Vodafone and Damac Digital – a strategic project set to substantially strengthen both regional and national digital infrastructure.
The entire design and construction of this vital facility is being delivered on a turnkey basis by SERBAN, a provider of end-to-end data center solutions ranked 4th among the world’s best data center construction companies. Known for delivering EPC+ (Engineering, Procurement and Construction plus commissioning) services to global standards, SERBAN will serve as the main contractor for the İzmir Data Center project.
A Major Contribution to Türkiye’s Digital Infrastructure
With extensive experience in delivering high-performance, energy-efficient and scalable data centers, SERBAN is poised to make a significant contribution to Türkiye’s digital future. Its single-source turnkey delivery model brings the entire process under one roof, improving operational efficiency and supporting project success from design through to handover.
Built to global standards and equipped to meet growing data processing and storage needs, the facility will be one of the most advanced data centers in the Aegean region.

Strategic Location, Advanced Infrastructure
Built on a project area of 11,838 m², the İzmir Data Center will be one of the largest and most advanced data centers in the Aegean region. The facility will have a total IT capacity of 12 MW, with the first phase providing 4 MW.
İzmir’s strategic geographical location – close to the landing stations of the submarine fiber-optic cables that connect continents – will make the facility a critical hub for international data flows and a prime destination for global businesses.
Comprehensive MEP and Infrastructure Scope
SERBAN’s responsibilities on the project include the turnkey design and construction of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) systems, as well as the complete data hall infrastructure. Built to the highest international standards, the facility will prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, delivering long-term value with minimal environmental impact.
A Visionary Step Towards Türkiye’s Digital Future
With this landmark investment, Vodafone and Damac Digital are positioning Türkiye as a central player in global data corridors. SERBAN’s involvement – backed by its engineering excellence and industry-leading experience – will ensure the successful delivery of a data center that not only meets today’s needs but is also scalable for the future. The project represents a milestone for both regional development and national digital transformation, further strengthening Türkiye’s position as a strategic hub for data infrastructure investment.
